Trail & Kinmount Cleanup – Progress Update & Volunteer Callout

Thanks to everyone who came out this past weekend to support our ongoing cleanups—both on the trails in Haliburton & Kawartha and at Kinmount Fairgrounds.

We want to give a special shoutout to the volunteers from Central Ontario 4×4Georgina Jeep Club, and Barrie Jeep Club who have worked tirelessly to help start clearing Picard and Concession. Your hard work made a serious impact.

And a huge thank-you to the team from Canadian Nissan Truck Club, Ottawa Jeep Club, Central Ontario Off Road Jeep Club, Staang’s Fab, along with individual members, trail guides, and board members who joined in at Kinmount. The amount of brush and debris moved was incredible, and it was your energy and commitment that made it happen.

Trails Are Drying—But the Cleanup Is Big

While the trails in the Haliburton and Kawartha areas are drying out quickly, the amount of storm debris remains extreme. This weekend proved just how intense the work ahead of us is. As one of our members, Ron, summed up:

“This is not a day of casual wheeling and relaxing. This is hard work for a few days so we can enjoy our trails all year long.”

Their team spent 7 hours clearing a section that normally takes 25 minutes to drive.

Thanks to all the volunteers helping, our new goal is to get as many trails cleared and ready as possible before the long weekend. Yup we hope to get you out sooner than originally planned!

Check the OF4WD Trail Database for ongoing updates on which trails are clear.
